What does 49 CFR 385.405T (Application for safety permit) require?

Based on 49 CFR 385.405T, to apply for a new safety permit or renew an existing one, a motor carrier must do the following:
* Complete and submit Form MCS-150B (Combined Motor Carrier Identification Report and HM Permit Application). This single form also satisfies the requirements to get or renew your USDOT Number, so you do not need to file a separate Form MCS-150.
* Register with PHMSA (Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration) in accordance with 49 CFR part 107, subpart G.
* Keep your information updated by reporting any changes to the information on your Form MCS-150B to the FMCSA within 30 days of the change, using that same Form MCS-150B.
