As a motor-carrier owner transporting pyrophoric Class 7 (radioactive) materials in quantities up to $A_2$ per package, you must follow the requirements outlined in 49 CFR 173.418:

* Packaging: Use a DOT Specification 7A packaging made of materials that will not react with or be decomposed by the contents. (Note: If transporting by aircraft, you must use a Type B package).

* Form: The contents must be in solid form and must not be fissile (unless excepted by § 173.453).

* Receptacles: The materials must be inside sealed, corrosion-resistant receptacles that have positive closures. Friction or slip-fit covers or stoppers are strictly not allowed.

* Purity: The contents must be completely free of water and any contaminants that could increase their reactivity.

* Inerting: You must prevent self-ignition during transport by doing one of the following:

* Mix the materials with large volumes of inerting materials (such as graphite, dry sand, or another suitable inerting material), or blend them into a hardened concrete matrix; OR

* Fill the innermost receptacle with an appropriate inert gas or liquid.
